Non-Top-Tier Undergrad, Tsinghua/Peking PhD, QS Top 50 — The Invisible Education Hierarchy

There's an unspoken ladder: Tsinghua and Peking at the top, then C9, 985, 211, and "double non" universities.

The gap between each rung is enormous. Even a Tsinghua PhD from a regular undergrad still gets asked about their bachelor's. The hierarchy follows you through your entire career.

Is it fair? No. But acknowledging it exists is the first step. "Double non" graduates have to work harder, but it's not impossible — I know people who've made it to the top from the bottom.
