I've been wearing glasses for 20 years. Here are the lessons.

Frames: TR90 is great for kids (flexible, unbreakable). Titanium is ideal for daily wear โ€” light, no allergies. Beta-titanium is even more comfortable. Avoid the "fashion first" trap โ€” heavy frames slide down your nose.

Lenses: the higher the refractive index, the thinner the lens. Below -3.00, 1.56 or 1.60 is fine. -3.00 to -6.00, go for 1.60 or 1.67. Above -6.00, 1.74+. Zeiss, Hoya, Nikon, Essilor are trusted brands.

Traps to avoid: not getting a proper refraction test (auto-refractor alone isn't enough for astigmatism). The "frame + lenses bundle" that upsells you at every step. Over-promoted "functional lenses" โ€” progressive lenses are great for 40+ with presbyopia but wasted onๆ™ฎ้€š myopia. Not verifying lens parameters before picking up.

The core logic: frames โ€” focus on material and fit. Lenses โ€” match refractive index to prescription, choose trusted brand. Add features only as needed.
