It started when I realized the "cherry-flavored" children's ibuprofen tasted like a chemical factory had a bad day.

I tried every trick: mixing with applesauce, hiding in pudding, counting to three. Nothing worked consistently.

So I did a taste test of everything in our cabinet. Some medicines have genuinely effective taste-masking. Others are punishment.

Temperature matters: cold medicine dulls the taste buds slightly. Try different brands of the same active ingredient. Ask the pharmacist about taste.

For impossible medicines: mix with strong flavors like chocolate syrup or strawberry jam. Yogurt remains our gold standard.

The struggle is real, but there are ways to make it easier.
